Katie B earns Gold Award

Senior Katie B. had a busy spring and summer. The varsity softball pitcher presented a free softball camp to girls first through fourth grade. Not only did she plan the entire week's events, she recruited volunteers and she held fund raisers all year to pay for the expenses. The girls learned how to hit, field and pitch throughout the week. The week culminated in a game where the girls put there new skills into action. Each girl was presented her own softball to practice and framed photo to commemorate the camp. The over 100 hours put in by Katie was appriciated by all th girls! Congratulations Katie!!

We had a great spring with our area service projects.
On April 21, 9 troops collected 980 non-perishable goods for the Hunger Center. Congratulations to troop 1007 1st place for collecting 243 items and 2nd place to Troops 1035/1121/ and 1055 for collecting 213 items. Their efforts were rewarded with gift certificates to the Scout Shop. After handling all the food the Girl Scouts were treated to Hot Dogs and Lemon Ade!
On Saturday, May 5th, we gathered together for clean-up at Stoneledge Farm. 6 troops banded together to clean the trails, barn, and kitchenette. We enjoyed a campfire and of course, S'mores, afterward.
